Our team joined industry leaders in Berlin for Micromobility Europe 2026. Outside the venue, attendees could test ride our latest bikes on a dedicated test track before heading inside for discussions on powering bikeshare at scale, why we design and build our own bikes and stations, and more:

Caroline Samponaro, VP and Head of External Affairs, contributed an article to the launch edition of Micromobility Magazine, distributed to all attendees at Micromobility Europe 2026 in Berlin. The piece explores three forces shaping the next decade of bikeshare: what it takes to deploy ebikes at scale, how to build station infrastructure that works with transit, and reaching people who have never thought of bikeshare as an option for them.

The city of Târgu Mureș, Romania, has officially launched its first public bikeshare system, marking an important step toward more sustainable urban mobility. Deployed in collaboration with our operating partner, SUMS, the new Velo Târgu Mureș network features a mixed fleet of pedal and electric bikes, supported by smart charging stations that help keep ebikes continuously available. This launch marks Lyft Urban Solutions' sixth bikeshare deployment in Romania and its 18th system in Europe, continuing our commitment to helping cities build accessible, reliable shared mobility networks.
Bike to Work Week once again demonstrated the growing role of bikeshare in everyday commuting. Across our US-operated systems, commuter rides increased by 45% over typical 2026 levels, with several cities setting new ridership records during the campaign. The results highlight the growing demand for reliable, sustainable transportation options and the important role bikeshare plays in helping people get to work.
Alessia Di Maio, Business Development Manager at Lyft Urban Solutions, took part in a webinar alongside fellow members of European Cycling Industries’ Expert Group on Bike Share to discuss what it takes to make bikeshare a true priority for cities: "Real investments in bikeshare mean dedicated street space, capex investment that drives stronger ridership, modal integration, transit integration." Cities Today wrote an article around the discussion highlights, exploring the priorities shaping the next phase of growth for bikeshare, from public investment and dedicated cycling infrastructure to stronger integration with public transportation.
