Lyft Urban Solutions unveils all-new electric and pedal bikes designed to redefine the bikeshare experience
We’re proud to introduce our next-generation bikeshare fleet, featuring two new models: an all-new electric bike and a reimagined pedal bike. Designed for an exceptional ride, these new bikes are ideal for bikeshare systems with charging networks and offer the convenience of both in-dock and out-of-station parking. Whether you're climbing hills effortlessly or cruising city streets, both vehicles promise a smoother, safer, and more adaptable journey thanks to their responsive handling, comfortable design, and built-in safety features, making city travel a real joy.

Bilbao and Rivas-Vaciamadrid launch brand new, 100% electric bikeshare systems
- A new era of urban mobility has arrived in Bilbao with the launch of Bilbaobizi! This fully electric bikeshare system, a collaboration with Serveo with support from sponsor Iberdrola, is now operational. With 790 ebikes and 48 smart charging stations, Bilbao proudly joins a select group of global cities, including Madrid, Dubai, Quebec City, and Zaragoza, that utilize a fully docked electric fleet. And there's more to come, as an ambitious expansion is already planned for 2026 to grow the network even further. Learn more.
- BicinRivas is now live, bringing a 100% electric bikeshare solution to the streets of Rivas-Vaciamadrid, also deployed in partnership with Serveo. This new system features 439 ebikes and 42 charging stations, offering residents a seamless and sustainable way to get around. Learn more.
With this launch, and the recent introduction of Bilbaobizi, Lyft Urban Solutions now boasts eight deployments across Spain, totaling over 21,000 bikes—a remarkable 77% of which are electric.
Skills for success: Celebrating Bike New York's 2025 Bike Path program graduates
Earlier this month, 20 New Yorkers didn't just get diplomas; they stepped into thriving new careers! These graduates of Bike New York's Bike Path program are now certified bike mechanics, equipped with the vital skills to keep 1.6 million Citi Bike riders moving across New York City every single year. This intensive three-week training empowers previously incarcerated individuals with valuable technical expertise, opening doors to stable, well-paying jobs. As the proud operator of the Citi Bike program, Lyft Urban Solutions partners with Bike New York on this incredible workforce development initiative. It's how we help ensure Citi Bike's massive fleet of over 35,000 bikes stays in peak condition, all while creating meaningful opportunities and strengthening communities.

Bikeshare highlights from around the world
- 🇪🇸 La Coruña’s BiciCoruña continues its expansion with 300 additional ebikes and 7 new stations, bringing the fleet closer to the City Council’s goal of reaching 85 stations in the coming months.
- 🇪🇸 BiciMad introduces virtual stations across Madrid, allowing users to park e-bikes in designated geofenced areas, offering greater flexibility. This new feature is made possible by the ebike’s secondary locking mechanism on the rear wheel.
- 🇺🇸 WE-cycle expands to Snowmass Village with 90 new ebikes and 9 additional electric stations, extending bikeshare access across the Aspen area and advancing its regional mobility strategy.
- 🇲🇽 MiBici reaches a major milestone with 33 million total trips since its launch in 2014. In 2025 alone, the system has already recorded 1.9 million rides, averaging over 13,000 daily trips so far this year.
- 🇨🇦 BIXI Montréal set a new record with nearly 100,000 rides in a single day, marking an all-time high and underscoring the city’s cycling momentum.
- 🇨🇦 Bike Share Toronto broke its all-time daily ridership record with over 37,800 rides in a single day this June, setting the stage for what’s expected to be its biggest year yet.
- 🇺🇸 In Washington DC, Capital Bikeshare saw its second-busiest month ever in May 2025, with over 690,000 trips, a 34% increase over last year. The system has already recorded over 2.6 million trips in 2025, with e-bikes leading the way at 60% of all rides.
